Yes: Herpes is a virus and can be transmitted through body fluids.  For example, you may have oral sex with someone who has genital herpes and get "genital herpes-hsv-2" on your lips (as oppsed to the common hsv-1-cold sore herpes).  Wearing condoms during sex and assuring you have no open hand sores (or even wearing gloves) is the best way to prevent the spread of hsv-2 (next to abstinence).

No: If someone has only hsv2 then they can certainly spread that virus. You cannot spread something you do not have. The same would be said about someone with only hsv1.  That person could spread hsv1 through close contact.

Check with doctor: Herpes sores don't usually bleed, but it might happen from time to time. If this is newly acquired herpes, your cervix may be infected and could result in some vaginal bleeding. I hope you're on effective treatment like valacyclovir or acyclovir. If any questions or concerns continue, discuss with the doctor or clinic where you were diagnosed and treated. Good luck!
