: Although genital herpes usually involves the skin outside/surrounding the vagina it has been reported to trigger abnormal pap smears in asymptomatic women. The cells showed herpetic viral changes.

good day, i would like to know if a pap smear can indicate the presence of herpes and if so is it possible that it can occur on the cervix?

Pap smear: Herpes virus could be tested during a pap smear with a PCR but since it is present only intermittently, it will only be noticed  looking at one point in time and only if the sample is great enough from the cervix, no other affected areas are tested; therefore, wouldn't be accurate. While with an IgG test is meant for diagnosing the disease even if there are no visible symptoms at the moment.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Not necessarily: There is a blood test for herpes and if you wish to know if you have been infected with Herpes 1 and or 2, ask your doctor for the blood test.

Probably not: It is uncommon to have herpes right on the cervix. If you are having pain every time you have intercourse then it is unlikely to be herpes as herpes comes and goes infrequently.

Yeast?: The main cause of vulvar itching is yeast infection. HPV doesn't cause itching. Mild herpes outbreaks may itch, with few other symptoms, but the itching would be localized to a particular spot, gone in a few days, and not recur until at least a few weeks later. Best to see a doctor for proper diagnosis. Or try an OTC yeast treatment, but for sure see your doctor if itching persists.

i have genital herpes and have recent been diagnosed with hpv and was told i have a lesion on my cervix... i've been having swollen lymph nodes?

Either: Genital herpes can definitely cause ulceration on the cervix and swollen lymph nodes. It is less likely that the HPV is the cause of the enlarged lymph nodes since they would occur due to the HPV only if you had advanced cervical cancer and, if you have been having regular exams and paps, this is not likely. Words: Cervix = an organ ; itis= an ending placed on words like an organ system to indicate inflammation. The word cervicitis just means it has evidence of inflammation without pointing to a specific cause.

history chlamydia cervix inflammed (cured) got herpes also.2 years later your preg you want an abortion. possiblity will it effect you on trying again?

Probably not: An std like chlamydia can affect fertility with scaring of tubes. An abortion could cause scaring of the lining of the uterus causing recurrent miscarriage and failed implantation. The good news is that these complications are low and rarely occur. Don't worry about it this now. Try and get pregnant when the time is right.
