Not true: Varicella ( chicken pox ) is in the herpesvirus family, but it is not herpes simplex virus type one. Two different viruses. You have to test for varicella-zoster virus to check for immunity to chicken pox.

PCR: The test works by detecting the dna of the chlamydia organism.  Even a tiny bit will make the test positive, so one needs to wait a while before retesting to confirm a cute, as one can stay positive for several weeks after successful treatment.

Easily passed: A common pathway of transmission is from mother to child as many get their first bout with this as infants. It's hard to interpret your question but if you don't already have it and you are not exchanging saliva with anyone, you shouldn't be at much risk.

Sexual contact.: Herpes infections are actually very common. By the time you are sexually active, there is about a 40% chance that you have been exposed to herpes type 1 or 2. Most people you have herpes will not know it, yet they can transmit it to others. Some people actually get an outbreak and rarely some individuals get frequent outbreaks. Limit your sexual partners to as few as possible.

Very unlikely: Transfer of herpes from one part of the body to another is called auto-inoculation. It sometimes occurs during someone's first infection with the virus, but after a few months, the immune system prevents new infections with the same virus, anywhere on the body. Use common sense hygiene and avoid rubbing your eyes during an outbreak of oral or genital herpes. Otherwise don't worry about it.

I do not know: If concerned for std's, there is no problem getting tested.  Genital herpes can have many "negative" connotations associated with it and cause a lot of stress and anxiety, so maybe some people say don't get tested?

Herpes I, II ?'s: A completely new Herpes I or II infection ( i.e., no prior history of exposure) may take from several to 10 days to create the typical painful ulcer of Herpes.  Many times b/c Herpes is so easily transmitted, a long standing dormant infection may be activated by stress, and coincidentally an "exposure" from another individual may coincide in time to the appearance of a Herpes ulcer.

Recurrent blisters: Happen with herpes in most cases, if no active lesions it is more difficult to say.   Blood tests can show new or previous exposure.
HSV Type 1 lesions are usually less severe, (cold sores), very common. HSV Type 2 lesions are more severe and numerous, particularly with first outbreak.  Anti viral medication can help decrease recurrences.

Shedding : The herpes virus lives in the nerve roots and comes to the skin during active outbreaks. During an active outbreak, it is more infectious and can cause a new lesion from contact with skin.

Herpes simplex: Yes, one "bump" could conceivably be herpetic although this is unusual.  You make no further description, so it is impossible to say what you specifically have, but if it keeps up and you are concerned see your doctor.
