what are the causes and advised treatment for anal itching ?

i've been having intermittent anal itching for the past 2 years. albendazole didn't help

THe most: Common cause of anal itching especially if it wakes you from your sleep is caffeine followed by excess perspiration. Do not use witch hazel! cut out all caffeine and use corn starch powder on your bottom when getting dressed and whenever you feel dampness or itching in that area. Avoid petroleum based creams of any kind.

Yes but . . .: Yes, itching could be related but w/o more info, much less examination, there's no way to tell. You can try any number of vaginal and hemorrhoid creams (use only as directed!) but for definitive treatment, you'll need to go see your Family Doc, GYN or Planned Parenthood for evaluation.

i have bacterial vaginosis and i'm on day 5 of treatment.  i also have bad anal itching as well.  is this due to the bv and if so, how can i stop it?

Itching and BV: Anal itching is not usually associated with bacterial vaginosis. It can happen due to pinworms, especially in younger children, a hemorrhoid, a yeast infection, or irritation/allergy to an agent. It is possible that you reacted to the metrogel. Try Anusol-HC suppository.
If  taking oral flagyl(metronidazole) then it could be sensitivity to colored ,scented toilet paper, soap, or detergent.

At least 5 causes: Causes--most commonly results from failure to clean the area after a bowel movement. Others inclued some foods and drinks that may irritate the anus, some powerful antibiotics, chemical irritation or skin allergy in the anal area, and intense cleaning after a bowel movement. Less often, an anal itch may be a symptom of an illness that affects the anal area. The treatment would depend on the cause.

Intertrigo/fungal: Likely due to fungal or intertrigo. Pinworms less likely. I would recommend washing 2-3x a day, drying in front of fan, applying very small amount of baking soda. You can try athletes foot spray too. Do this for 2-4 weeks.

Rash or pinworms? : This is a common symptom of a pinworm infection.  It is not life-threatening and easy to treat.  See your doctor and explain what's going on.  You could also have a rash that might need a non-prescription cream or ointment.  Itchiness in that area is common, and a quick visit with the doctor should be diagnostic and helpful.

Multifactorial: Causes include excessive hygiene, pinworms, diet, anal leakage, hemorrhoids.  Try avoiding soap and washcloth on anal area.  Only warm water and your hand to cleanse in the shower.  Avoid medicated wipes, just use soft toilet paper and wipe as little as possible.  Avoid ingesting coffee, tea, soda, beer or citrus.

i have an itchy anus hole, no rash or bumps or anything it just always itches and sometimes bleeds(may be from itching) i have psoriasis if it matters?

Could be: It may be psoriasis but also may be  pruritus ani, or "itchy bottom", especially if it wakes you from your sleep. The 2 most common causes are excess caffeine and excess moisture. See a colorectal specialist and get it diagnosed and treated properly. In the meantime stop all caffeine and replace with other fluids, and use cornstarch powder liberally on your bottom. No soaps and no talcum powders.

Possible fissure: This could be a thrombosed hemorrhoid or an anal fissure since you are having pain. You need to be seen and examined to be sure what is going on so that you can be treated and stop hurting. Good luck.
