Others inclued some foods and drinks that may irritate the anus, some powerful antibiotics, chemical irritation or skin allergy in the anal area, and intense cleaning after a bowel movement. Less often, an anal itch may be a symptom of an illness that affects the anal area. The treatment would depend on the cause.
