To do so, you need to see a physician to get a urine culture to see what is causing it and to placed on antibiotics that can treat it. That is the sure way. If you cannot do this, try some cranberry juice and a gram of vitamin c daily. There is absolutely no guarantee that this will work to get rid of your uti.

Call your doc: There is another medication called Pyridium (phenazopyridine) that can calm the bladder spasm for a couple of days until the antibiotic starts working. But just don't be alarmed when your urine turns orange from it. A harmless side effect.

BV? Trichomonas?: The main causes of vaginal discharge with odor are 1) bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria; and 2) trichomonas, an STD. Both are treated with metronidazole or tinidazole. See your doctor to learn the cause, get treated, and probably tested for other STDs. (Gonorrhea and chlamydia are more common in women with both BV and trichomonas.) Good luck.
