Yes: From edema (swelling) at the anal opening and thus deformation of the stool as you pass it (like toothpaste out of a tube).

No: We are born with hemorrhoid tissue and there are 3 that each have an internal and external component.  They are soft and really should not affect the stool or its shape.

No: Hemorrhoids do not change the shape of stool. If this is a constant change, you need a flexible sigmoidoscopy to see if there is a reason for this.

: Hemorrhoids sounds like a good bet, although a bit less likely if no bleeding. Best to see a doctor if it persists another week. (If you have had anal sexual contact, especially receptive anal sex with other men, get checked for STDs:  don't wait.)

Possible: But not likely.  I would be concerned about other masses or a stricture or other anatomical defect producing your symptoms.  A general surgeon should be able to take a direct look with a proctoscope or flex sig to make sure there isn't something more serious going on.

Yes and maybe: Certainly, standing for a long period of time, such as at work, can result from muscle strain and be a factor in chronic low back &amp; hip pain. Stretching/strengthening exercises should help. But "flat stool" needs more investigation in my view; hemorrhoids by themselves should not be sufficient to cause. I would ask doctor for more testing, probably flex sig or colonosocpy, to evaluate. Good luck:)

: Did your Doctor make any recommendations about your diet to help with elimination and what you could do to treat the hemorrhoids with a topical solution like witch hazel? If your Doctor isn’t helping please see another for a second opinion.

: Neg colonoscopy means that the problems are from hemorrhoids. Removal should help. In the meantime sitz baths ( sitting in warm water) and OTC hemorrhoid ointment applications should bring relief.

If u have bad: Internal hemm, please see a rectal specialist as u may be a candidate for rubber banding, or they may need to be lanced or removed.
