Dry Mouth : Dry mouth or xerostomia is common.  If can be a common problem as people age. Medications are common to cause the condition. There are medical conditions like Sjogren's syndrome.  Climate changes and particularly indoor air in cool climates can get particularly dry.

when i drink water, my mouth gets dry. doesn't happen with any other type of drink, only bottled water. why does this happen?

Hard to say: Getting a dry mouth from only drinking bottled water is a strange complaint. My first question would be does this happen with tap water also?  If not, perhaps it's the bottled water. Despite claims of purity by many bottled water companies studies show significant levels of chemicals in many national brands of bottled water.

If it happens with tap water also then I have no clue.

Dry mouth: Could be salivary gland atrophy. Any smoking, alcohol or mouth washes used-all these can dry the mucosal surfaces. ?menopausal. Women more prone dry eyes and decreased saliva production sometimes on autoimmune basis. Can suck on lozenges to stimulate salivary gland secretions.

Dry mouth: You may be sleeping with your mouth open even if you don&#x27;t know it and for at least part of the time. Some medications cause dry mouth. When was you last dental and medical check-up?  Dry mouth promotes cavities. Make sure you brush and floss properly for two minutes before you go to sleep.

Mouth-breathing?: You likely have nasal obstruction as well and mouth-breathing while asleep can give you dry mouth.  Consult your doctor to see if you have nasal problem and then observe whether reducing the nasal obstruction leads to improvement in your dry mouth.  Dry mouth may also be caused by inflamed salivary glands presumably from an autoimmune process.

been having foamy spit or phlegm for a few months. it usually thins if i drink water, but will return shortly after. dry mouth, but no cough, or other symptoms. i do have post nasal drip. should i be worried?

: Make sure you are not dehydrated and do not work or sleep in a very dry environment. If the phlgm persists please see a ENT  or your MD for the cause.
