Achilles problems: Most likely you are developing a shortened achilles tendon and possibly bursitis in the back of the heels that is agrivated when it gets stretched out after getting out of the heels (that are keeping the tension off of the achilles.)  you need to start a stetching program to gently lengthen the achilles at the back of the heel.

Reactive arthritis?: Certain kinds of arthritis can do this, including reactive arthritis (ReA), which happens to be especially common in Finland and Scandinavia. Plantar fasciitis (pronounced fash-ee-itis) is another possibility, but the heel pain is mostly on the sole, not back of the heel. See a doctor to check it out -- especially important to have professional care if it turns out to be ReA. Good luck!

Heei pain: Heel pain is usually due to plantar fasciitis which is a thick band running from the heel to just behind the toes and width of the foot. Stretch by pulling the foot toward the body and you can wear a night slint to do this while you sleep. Ice is good as well and anti- inflammatory drugs may help. If this doesn't help see a podiatrist for other treatment options.
