i had an endometrial biopsy on th. 9/6/12', it is now sat. 2days later, should i still be bleeding heavy?  it has been off & on....lighter & now heavy.

Possible: It is still possible to have bleeding after an endometrial biopsy depending on why it was done and your medical history.  If the bleeding is heavier than a maxi pad an hour, associated with fever, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, chest pain or other symptoms then notify your doctor and/or go to ER

took utovlan to reduce menstral bleeding so i could go ahead & have endometrial biopsy. stopped utovlan straight after. now heavy bleeding is this ok?

had and endometrial biopsy done a little over 2 weeks ago. i had very heavy bleeding and blood clots the first day and light bleeding for a few day after. now im late for my period could that be normal?

: Bleeding as described can certainly occur after an endometrial biopsy, and stress (emotional, job or school) or anxiety can delay ovulation, and the onset of menstruation.  See your GYN physician for guidance and perhaps other testing.

Couple: One option would be endometrial ablation to burn or freeze the lining of the uterus to try to fix the bleeding. Hysterectomy would be another option.

Probably lidocaine: It was probably Lidocaine with Epinephrine (adrenaline) which is used to make the procedure less painful.

heavy bleeding. endometrial biopsy showed polyp. hysteroscopy/polypectomy done and dr says my uterus lining looks irregular and has some scarring. never had a d&c. what does irregular mean? could this be hormonal? im 45 and fsh is 66

Irregular lining: An irregular endometrial lining is due to inconsistent endometrial growth of the lining. This can occur at your age of 45 due to estrogen without progesterone stimulation as ovulation and resultant progesterone at this age is infrequent. Endometrial scarring can be due to a previous infection of the endometrial lining, placental childbirth issues, and of course a  previous too vigorous D &amp; C.

Likely okay: When a woman has a d;c it usually removes her lining.  So long as not soaking a pad in 1-2 hours or less, likely okay. If you're already anemic, however, or have other medical problems, you might want to go to the er to make sure that you're okay.  Heavy flow in and of itself, doesn't really describe how much bleeding you're having.  You can always talk to your doctor or whomever is oncall.

ToBleedOrNotToBleed: Some light spotting for a few days is not unusual, but if it persists for over a week, especially if increasing in amount or accompanied by pain, foul odor or fever then you should see your doctor ASAP. Now, at your age, having the biopsy is a bit unusual so maybe the reason your doctor got the biopsy is the reason for the prolonged bleed(e.g.friable tissue)but in any case, your doctor should know

If it is unexplained.: If the cause of abnormal bleeding cannot be explained, especially in women over 40, and definitely in all postmenopausal women, an endometrial biopsy should be done to rule out a cancer of the uterus. An endometrial biopsy will take a sampling of cells from inside the uterine cavity that can be sent to a pathologist to look for abnormal cells or hormone imbalances.

Yes: Yes, there will be some spotting or bleeding after the procedure. It is perfectly normal. Anytime the uterus is manipulated in this way there will be some bleeding and discharge.
