Also called Polio: Poliomyelitis refers to the infection of the motor nerves of spinal cord, and brainstem caused by the polio virus.  It was not uncommon to have polio before the salk vaccine.  Actual 'poliomyelitis' in which the spinal cord and brainstem were injured to the point of paralysis occurred in .1 to 2.0 percent of infected individuals.

Bacterial infection: It is a boil on the skin which affects the deep portions of the area. It needs to be drained to allow the pus out. It will be packed and drainage will continue for a few days resulting in a scar at the site. If there are more than one lesion than oral antibiotics will be prescribed.

GERD may progress: Gerd="gastroesophageal reflux disease." stuff from stomach (whether acid or not) regurgitates back into esophagus--due to inappropriate relaxation of lower esophageal sphincter, impaired esophageal function (peristalsis), inadequate saliva, gastric outlet narrowing, gastroparesis, small bowel pathology, etc. Damage to esophagus may result including ulcers, scarring, narrowing, pre-cancer(barretts).

Each attack may last days, afterwhich the patient is symptom-free for months. Some sufferers exhibit delayed gastric emptying.Cvs is also considered one of several functional GI problems in children. Work-up is needed to find treatable issues.

Thin skin: The vaginal skin is very sensitive to estrogen. Without it, the tissue gets very thin, dry, and doesn't stretch well. Estrogen used directly in the vagina is the best treatment. It increases cell growth, strengthens the walls, and promotes good bacteria decreasing the risk of bladder infections.
