Headaches: Best to see a doctor to figure it out. Causes vary from stroke to hemorrhage to brain infections to migraines and more. If worsening, go to er.

is there such thing as a silent stroke meaning without headache?

Accepted Answer

Most without headach: More than 85% strokes occur without significant headaches associated with them. When you say "silent" stroke I think what you mean is a stroke which there are no obvious neurological deficits. Those can and do occur. Talk to your doctor if you think there might be a problem.

i seem to have this chronic almost-headache...meaning, i don't have a full blown headache, but when i shake my head, it's painful. what could it be?

Anything: Sinus problems, eye strain, migraine etc can all cause chronic headache. Sinus problems for example are common. Start with your pcp for an assessment and go from there.

Headaches: Headaches from sinus pressure or muscle tightness can seem to migrate to other areas with movement.

No: I don't beileve so, although highly polluted areas may cause more reactive airway disease, and may cause nasal congestion as part of this.

Cranial arteritis?: If you were older, i would suggest your ophthalmologist or neurophthalmologist rule out cranial arteritis with biopsy and sed rate.

Localized or not: Both localized (near orbit) or  diffuse, migraine type headaches can occur.  Headache warning signs can include a change in headaches or persistent head pain when it was not there before. Other warning signs can include visual loss, new onset seizures, drooping eyelid, double vision, dilated pupil. loss of color vision in one eye, with eventual catastrophic headache if a bleed occurs.

i was bit by a tick thursdayish. it was very imbedded and sucking blood. now the location of bite hurts, i have a headache, and i'm achey all over.

Lyme?: It's not lyme disease from this particular tick bite, as it is too soon, but your symptoms could be related to the tick bite itself.  If you've had a previous tick bite, even if unnoticed, you could have lyme disease.  These are vague/general symptoms.  You need an evaluation by your physician, who may consider treating w/ antibiotics empirically.

Head concussion: Any head trauma can cause head concussion, the common symptoms are: headache, dizziness, vision disturbances, memory loss, unsteady gate, and sleep disturbances, the severity of symptoms depends on the severity of the head trauma, usually the role that the symptoms ease over few weeks, if your headache is getting worse, so you need to see your doctor.

Tension/migraine/eye: A daily headache is a litle different than things like migraines (although they can be frequent and do throb). A condition called chronic daily headache exists that is tough to manage. Headaches can have many causes including drugs, caffeine, otc med use, inflammation, migraines, tension and so on. To diagnose it needs more symptoms and some exam. Problems in the eye can also cause headaches.
