Sound sick. : Your highest temperature as you have described is not in her fever range, thankfully however, your other symptoms to make it seem like you are sick. Perhaps an upper respiratory infection or sinus infection. And evaluation by Dr. would be in order.

? Step throat: The symptoms may be due to strep throat but if symptoms persist more than 24 hours, it would be best to see a physician and find out. There is no substitute for a face to face evaluation. In the meantime treat the symptoms with fluids, approved over the counter meds based on age and weight. Don't wait 24 hours if symptoms continue to worsen.

Depends on the Dr.: For patients with sore throats, some doctors want to see every one of them and do rapid (5 minute) strep throat tests on them. This method catches strep infections early, and starts antibiotics early, for faster recovery. Other doctors want patients to wait a couple of days to see if the symptoms go away on their own, and then just see in the clinic the patients with persistent symptoms.

Flu? Other virus?: These symptoms are typical for influenza, especially if there is fever, but also for many other viruses -- maybe just a bad cold.  Pneumonia is possible. There's no way to know for sure without professional evaluation. Contact your doctor ASAP; treatment can be given to speed recovery from flu, or an antibiotic may be recommended if it's bronchitis or pneumonia. Good luck.

High fever: Have him soak in a bathtub of warm water (to avoid chill) to help bring the temperature lower. A throat culture is also most important preferably  before the warm bath

Sore throat: For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician &amp; get a strep throat test &amp; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for Strep Throat.  Try saltwater gargles. Mix tsp of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle w this several times/day. You can gargle w Aloe Vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey &amp; a small amt of lemon juice helps.
