Cold symptoms: Viral infections can cause muscle aches.  The back pain could be from your infection, but it shouldn't last longer than a few days.  Feel better!

Tesnion headache: The cold water may be causing a tension headache. Try warm water.

Exam if continues: If the cough is getting less, and no fever, then wait for another ten days.  Drink more water to try to loosen the secretions and make them easier to cough up.  If not improving then, or new symptoms, then see your DR.
If you are a smoker, see your DR now.

Influenza: Get good rest and plenty of fluids to treat the flu. Influenza is viral infection and resolves on its own in 10-14 days. If concerned, see your GP for eval.

Seasonal flu: Seasonal flu it is very common viral infection. Usually the condition resolves on its own with home care. Drink water and get a good rest. If there is no improvement or sore throat is severe or lasts longer than another week, or you are getting joint pain
see your pcp for evaluation.

Angina???: If you have a history CHF and now chest pain, shortness of breath, and pain referral to the jaw-- i would worry about angina ie coronary insufficiency which could lead to heart attack. Need to go to the emergency room.

seen two rheum drs and they both dismissed ana +spec 1:640. up back pain for a year. cold hands. f ast pulse. hair thining. now what?

Not ANA!: An ANA is falsely-present in 5% of the population. I'm sure a reflex ANA was done by the rheumatology specialists you saw, and this would help pick up a diagnosis.  Cold hands are not raynaud's, and frequently a sign of stress! however, high thyroid levels do to grave's, an over active "hot nodule, " and taking to much thyroid could explain your sx!

Back pain is a commo: Back pain is a common symptom which can be secondary to many factors, such as muscle related pain, skin, bone, soft tissues (cartilage, ligaments, discs), nerve injury (ies). Other factors to consider include severity of symptoms, duration, and non-responsiveness to common treatments, as well as work and lifestyle limitations.  Further evaluation and management by your physician would benefit.

having back pain and when i bend head forward i can feel something pulling and painful. have s pped discs and pinched nerves.  could this be the cause?

Yes: If it is clear that you suffer from displaced disks or pinched nerves in the neck then, certainly flexing the neck forward can create a pulling sensation on the spinal column and subsequently place drag or stretch on the nerves and vertebral disks which may not be perfectly aligned causing pain in the neck.  Have you participated in some type of exercise therapy for your condition?

Coincident: It could be just a coincident that you have pain in both places , they are independent of each other.Multiple reazons for having both pain and they should be investigated accordingly.
