Could be: And it could be just lots of tension. Nerve pain is often tingling or radiating and feels worse with massage. If massage does not worsen consider having a massage to loosen and relax. If massage worsens, make an appointment. I would highly recommend acupuncture as i get fabulous results with such pain with acupuncture and chinese medicine.

And much more.: Whiplash injuries have been known to cause an unbelievable assortment of symptoms. I'm sure that yours can be found to be one of them. It is obviously a concern, and as such, you should be evaluated to minimize the lasting effects of these types of injuries.

how do you treat pinched nerves in the neck from forward head posture? i'm getting headaches and dizziness when standing. other problems too...

Physical therapy: First line treatment for forward head posture is physical therapy, in which the muscles at the back part of your neck/spine can be strengthened to improve your posture.  You may find that the improved posture helps your other symptoms too.  Do see a physician if symptoms persist.

Possibly: The common denominator being muscle tightness.  Most helpful strategy towards improvement involve healthy living (yoga, reduce stress, healthy eating and sleeping habits, heating pads).  Seasonal changes may contribute to stress or exertion (have you shoveled your driveway lately?).

Ear ringing: Then go tell the PA about it.  May need to adjust your meds or get a surgical consult.

Yes: Nerve compression in the neck can also compress occipital nerves which cause headaches. Also mechanical neck pain, i.e arthritis can also cause headaches. Headaches from the neck are more common in the occipital region or area in the back of the head.

TMJ: Does not sound like a pinched nerve. Could be TMJ or related to clenched as one does when stressed or bite has changed .This is when bite is off such as a new filling or crown. See the doc if persist and pay attention to the left jaw where it meets the head such as in front of the left ear.

had a mri that shows a herniated disc at c5-c6 causing nerve compression on both sides, worse on the right side. can a c5-c6 nerve compression more on the right side cause headache type symptoms on the right side of head?

: A disc herniation at C5/C6 will not be responsible for headaches, however, it is not uncommon for patients to developed tension-type headaches, because the neck muscles tend to tense up to prevent movement due to the injury, and those muscles can them radiate pain into the right side of the head.
