Hawthorn: My review of the literature suggests that there are no proven benefits to hawthorn but there is a downside risk of arrhythmias. Given evidence for harm but none for benefit, taking hawthorn appears to be unjustified and adding it to a therapeutic agent even more so.

I wouldn't chance it: Seizure treatment is finicky and the majority of seizure medications are sensitive to the effects of one or more other medications. Many of these interactions are known, and can be looked out for, but when it comes to complimentary treatment  it is very unpredictable. In my opinion the risk and consequences  of destabilizing your seizures far out weighs any benefit.

Hawthorn: There is a lack of solid evidence for beneficial effect of hawthorn for anything. Given the lack of evidence, there is no scientific reason to take the stuff.  Metoprolol has been proven to benefit many things. If your Doc is prescribing metoprolol take it, ask the Doc about hawthorn.

No!: We know what losartan will do and what's in the tablets you take. The fda regulates prescription drugs. You don't have a clue what's in an herbal tablet, what long term side effects might do to you, or how effective it might be. Losartan is cheap. Why take a chance?

Ramipril: Ramipril has data to support its antihypertensive use; it helps heal the kidney's glomeruli and has been proven to reduce cardiovascular mortality.  If one tries to use the hawthorn plant, check for interactions with other medications; theoretically, the plant has vasodilating properties which result in lower blood pressure.  Different sources can result in varying potency.

Anxiety: There is some research that Hawthorn might be effective in  
improving some heart failure symptoms in some people with mild to moderate heart failure.

There is some evidence that Hawthorn, combined with magnesium and California poppy might be useful in treating mild to moderate anxiety disorders.
