Reflex: You have an active gastrocolic reflex so that when food enters your stomach, it sets off a reflex that sends waves of contraction down your entire intestinal tract leading to a bowel movement. If you can't slow it down by experimenting with your diet, a medication like bentyl (dicyclomine) taken 1/2 hour before eating usually calms down this reflex. Discuss this with your physician.

Gastricolic reflex: When you eat , you GI tract  gets activated in order (mouth to rectum/anus)  like a tidal wave. So you may feel like having bowel movement 30-60 min after meal. Your stool is not what you ate , is what was stored in the colon (it takes about 16-24 hrs to digest food before it turns into stool).

Possible bladder inf: Possibly a bladdwr infection or too much caffeine or alcohol consumption.  Spicy foods can also irritate your bladder.  Make sure your doctor has checked you for diabetes because frequent urination can be a sign.

You : You sound like you are really feeling miserable.  Obviously, you already know to drink alot of water. What I am going to suggest won't fix the problem, but may help with healing. If you aren't using probiotics  consider it - kefir, greek yogurt or in the form of supplements.

As : As the bowel movements are accompanied by abdominal cramping, this is not normal. You are showing signs of hyperactive bowel and this can be indicative of other medical conditions such as crohn's disease or irritable bowel syndrome.
It is important that you follow up with your doctor to keep him/her aprised of your medical concerns. In the meantime, review your own diet to determine if there are certain foods that cause cramping and a need to go to the bathroom right away. Stay away from those foods and choose more fibrous choices such as granola, beans and leafy greens.

See someone: Many thoughts - best to see someone. It sounds like you have a "sensitive" GI tract. It normal for infants to go to the bathroom after eating, but not as much for adults. Irritable bowel or other colon issues come to mind. The belching suggests a problem with how food gets into and through your stomach. Reflux can cause these problems as can a slowing called gastroparesis(assoc w/diabetes).

Stool urgency: If this is an acute problem, it is most likely due to an infectious cause, most of which resolve spontaneously it a few days. If it is a long-term problem, though, you may have irritable bowel syndrome. If so, try increasing your fiber intake, along with extra fluids. If this doesn&#x27;t work, or if it is an acute problem which does not go away in a few days, see your physician. Good luck.

Yes.: You may be confusing Celiac with Cyctic Fibrosis, however.     Cystic Fibrosis causes loose stools, lack of sweat and short stature, among many other things ( lung disease)   Celiac is gluten allergy, which also affects the gut, causes abdominal distension, flatulence  sometimes loose stools, and growth failure.   Do you have a newborn screening program in Barbados?
