why is my right abdomen harder than my left abdomen?

You liver is there: Depending on what you mean about the abdomen being harder, it can be a normal or abnormal finding. So it's best to contact your doctor first if you suspect that you have a hard abdomen, so s/he can check it out. S/he can do a full physical exam concentrating your abdomen. However if you're referring to the fact that there's more thickness to your right side, it could just be your liver.

Jab to abdomen: Not likely to have caused internal damage. I am guessing from your age you are not on blood thinners, so the risk of internal bleeding small. Your spleen is on the other side, so that is not at risk of rupture and large bleeding internally. If you have abdominal pain without moving, blood in urine or stool, go to ER, but otherwise you are probably ok!

See your doctor: What you are describing sounds like liver disease with accumulation of fluid in the belly, known as ascites.  I would get him evaluated as soon as possible; if he doesn't have a history of liver disease, you want this diagnosed sooner rather than later to reduce the total amount of damage done.

Can be: Hi ,

I think any woman who has been or is pregnant will say that they experienced increasing firmness of their abdomen .  in the first weeks I think this can be attributed  to increased bloating caused by the change in hormone status.  Then of course as the uterus rises out of the pelvis  and the woman begins to 'show'  the uterus can be felt as  a fullness or firmness in the center of the belly.
