Yes, ...: Such a transmission route is possible, but a contact with HPV doesn't mean one should get clinical or even subclinical infection. Most of disease-causing agents are contained or killed by our immune defense mechanism so we're not ill. Nonetheless, exercise sensible common sense to avoid unnecessary contacts and practice low-risk healthy lifestyle so we can live a long happy life.

Personal Choice: I advise my patients to inform their current partner only. I stress that you could have gotten it from him or any previous contact. It is not possible to trace it as it is detected in more than 50% of people. Do not worry about it.

Unlikely : Hpv is sexually transmitted. 90% can be cleared by our immune system and the ones that are not cleared end up in warts. Most people have no symptoms.

Warts : Warts are caused by hpv (human papilloma virus) and can be spread to other people or to other areas of the body.  Warts on the hand are a "different subtype" of hpv compared to genital warts.  Typically they don't spread from your hands to other areas of your body but it can happen.  For example, occasionally, i will have a patient have warts on their hand and one develops on their neck or lip, but this is not common.  Treatment options are discussed at the link below. : Touching underwear isn't enough to transmit HPV. More sexual contact with a person who has active HPV infection is required. If you haven't had the vaccine, you should get it.

Herpes: Herpes can be spread by skin-to-skin contact, however, the hand is not the most common place to have herpes.  But yes, the virus is contagious by contact with skin.

HPV: Has many strains. If you have it, you have it and it lives in you. You cannot spread it from your hands to your genitals or vice-versa since the various strains tend to cause lesions in specific areas of your body.

Warts can spread: Warts are caused by a virus, HPV or
 human papilloma virus. Yes, they can spread to other body parts. Get the hand warts treated.

Body itching : On face and hands could be dry skin, irritating lotions or soaps or fragrances,  bites, eczema ( though that would happen in a more frequent fashion and usually there is a rash). In the genital area, could be same dry skin, douches, eczema ( would see skin changes) or infection like yeast , bacterial vaginosis  or very rarely cancer  or scabies ( but would see marks).  f/u /w/ MD/ dermatology,
