I'm assuming: You're talking about the hand gripper that you find sporting good stores.  I don't think this single thing leads to carpal tunnel I do think that if you have carpet tunnel mouth case and you do too much of anything that's repetitive you can make the carpal thompson feel worse of times in addition carpal tunnels often progressive problem so sometimes it's just seems that the activity makes it worse but it just gets worse anyway if you don't have carpal tall symptom symptoms now that i wouldn't worry about using a hand gripper.

Hand gripper: These are most suited to exercise and mobility of finger joints and wrist, not tennis elbow. When safe to go and see primary care provider, you can then have possible tennis elbow diagnosed and treatment options discussed.

i hurt the side of my pinkie finger (by car hand grip) and its still completely numb even after 6 month. will the sensation ever return?

: It can take a whole year for the numbness to resolve if the nerve was injured, especially if it is numb at the distal end of the pinkie. So, it may improve over the next 6 months or so. Hopefully, with a bit more time you will see improvement. Good luck!

Avoid exercise : You could have a tendinitis on the finger, tendon or ligament injury ,or a bony injury (less likely) . Rest the finger by avoiding the exercises movements that make you hurt. May apply cold compresses for 15 minutes to the affected digit 2-3 Xday. See what happens. If there is no improvement then you will need to see your doctor and possibly be referred to a sports medicine , ortho/hand specialist

am 4 months out from flexor tendon surgery on rt. pinky and about 2.5 months out from having splint removed. hand grip strength still quite weak despite 2x/wk pt & at-home exercises. how long does it usually take to regain full/near-full strength?
