Many hallucinogens are also strong anticholinerigic drugs , like aminita mushrooms and belladonna, and those can cause severe problems, especially in older people. Mescaline, peyote and psilocin are herbal derived hallucinogens which in low doses produce an hallucinogenic experience without many medical side effects, but a bad trip, with psychosis and danger 2 self/others possible

L. E. Hollister's criteria for establishing that a drug is hallucinogenic are as follows:[1]

in proportion to other effects, changes in thought, perception, and mood should predominate;
intellectual or memory impairment should be minimal;
stupor, narcosis, or excessive stimulation should not be an integral effect;
autonomic nervous system side effects should be minimal; and
addictive craving should be absent.

Mostly wait it out: Hppd is when the use of a hallucinogenic drug leads to ongoing effects long after the drug was last used.  There's no generally effective treatment other than waiting for it to subside, although some patients improve with benzodiazepine tranquilizers, anticonvulsants, or parkinson's meds.  Good sleep, low stress, ; of course not using hallucinogens anymore may help too.

Seen with bath salts: But it is rare.  Several researchers looked into the stories that became common in the 60s and 70s about people having "flashbacks" to hallucinatory experiences, and found that most of the people with that history had underlying psychotic disorders like schizophrenia.  It has been reported in users of hallucinogens but is probably quite rare. If this is you, see a psychiatrist trained in addiction.

Morning glory seeds: Heavenly blue morning glories come in multiple colors:  blue, purple, pink, and white.  The seeds in all of them contain the hallucinogenic chemical d- lysergic acid (lsa, or ergine) -- closely related to lsd, but less potent.  It's a tryptamine that causes altered perceptions, thinking & mood along with intense nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. They were also used in ancient aztec rituals.

Hppd has visual disturbances like seeing false motion on the edges of the field of vision, bright or colored flashes, and halos or trails attached to moving objects. This can persist for years also.

It can cause atropine-like effects similar to aminita mushrooms and belladonna, with hallucinations, seizures and cardiac problems in high doses.
