rule of 5's: Typically, half life elimination is governed by multiplier of 5, so if half-life is 3 wks, full elimination would be of course 15 weeks.  That is indeed a long time, and i suspect that the true drug elimination half-life is shorter for your haldol, (haloperidol) as mechanistically, the duration is not the true half-life.

Haldol (haloperidol) decanoate: Haldol (haloperidol) will continue to be released in an active form until it leaves for system completely. Meanwhile it sounds like you are being transitioned over to zyprexa. There is a definite art doing this in long-acting forms and I am sure that your doctor is taking this into account. Injectable Haldol (haloperidol) is still used in severe cases, or in medication resistant cases where meds really ARE indicated because the consequences of not using it are worse.   Prolixin also enjoys a similar bad reputation.   The good news is, your brain is not likely damaged.

Yes: There is an anal sphincter which is a set of muscles that open and close the anus to allow for defecation. It relaxes and opens to permit passage of fecal contents and may remain relaxed after bowel movements for a period of time before regaining tone. This is normal. It is unlikely a result of your medications.

If you have diabetes you may be at more risk for infections including athlete's foot with zyprexa. These problems would be less common with haldol (haloperidol).

Unfortunately Yes: Overdosage of Haldol (haloperidol) is manifested by many of the same side effects experienced only to an intense degree: severe extrapyramical reactions (tremor, rigid muscles, weak muscles), low blood pressure, and sedation. One can experience severe cardiac problems leading to cardiac arrest. Since there is no antidote, supportive treatment is all that is available. So know your dose and follow it closely.
