Get CBC : You should get your blood checked especially a CBC and iron. It may be your iron levels may be low and may need to replenish your iron stores. Nutritional status can effect hair growth and thickness.

Telogen Effluvium: Telogen effluvium is a form of nonscarring alopecia characterized by diffuse hair shedding, often with an acute onset. A chronic form with a more insidious onset and a longer duration also exists.Telogen effluvium is a reactive process caused by a metabolic or hormonal stress or by medications or infections. Generally, recovery is spontaneous and occurs within 6 months or longer.

You recovered from the acute viral illness.: Thingy is an acute viral illness carried by a mosquito and estimated to affect over 500 million people worldwide yearly. There is not a specific treatment and symptoms vary from flu and flulike illnesses to death. If you get the acute hemorrhagic variety it does not bode well for you.
It looks like in the assorted literature that this is mostly supportive although a lot of work on immunization is being worked on

May be related: As you probably have learned, there is nothing much you can do for the Dengue fever, after effects of which can be felt for many weeks after the acute phase. Hair loss due to fluctuating health condition is generally temporary and improving nutrition with vitamin supplementation, should restore it in few months.

Not dengue directly: Sudden hair loss includes a condition called Telogen effluvium. It involves a disruption of the normal cycle of hair follicles.  Telogen occurs after a severe shock to the body.  Dengue fever certainly qualifies as such a shock. 
 The good news is that the hair loss is temporary, and your hair will grow back.

Marrow + destruction: It is suggested that dengue fever may involve the bone marrow and cause suppression of new platelet formation.  Another theory is that there is increased destruction of platelets due to an immunologic mechanism.

Lots of things: Certain medications, and other viral infections can do it as well.  Sometimes severe illness and malnutrition can do it.

Yes it is a : Bacterial infection and will recur as soon as u come into contact with contamination.  Please get whoever has symptoms to be tested and treated right away.
