Skin and hair issue.: This depends on the symptoms. Do you have  male pattern hair loss? Thinning? Patches of hair loss? What are your skin issues? 
Some basic labs would be warranted including thyroid and eventually hormonal or nutritional  changes which can factor in. A further discussion with clarification of symptoms would help guide the further workup.

im 22, i have 4 white patches of hair on my head. each 1 has a tiny spot where the white hair grows. they sometimes itch. no other skin problems atall?

31 years old, hair has been thinning especially around temples. i have never had skin problems but sides of chin stay broken out. hormones or thyroid?

Acne: Consider hyper-androgenism due to pcos or adrenal disorders.  Does not sound like thyroid related.

hi,i think i have skin problems ,firstly on my face i always had acnes and chin + pubic hair in-growns, i developed a lump on my wrist (ganglion), i also developed a lump after boil on thigh & now i have an anal pile, please help on the cause & cure?

: Your description is inconsistent with MS, but would certainly wonder about other diagnoses.  Rheumatological conditions, arteritic and vasculitic disorders could be considered, and with the miscarriages, could you have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome?  Suggest you seek a second opinion, perhaps a rheumatologist.

See a physician.: just the double vision is of such a concern that if that was your only symptom, I would advise you to see a physician. shortness of breath and chest pressure is another indication to see a doc.  perhaps all this is anxiety, but you must have this evaluated medically.

Sugar: Sugar by itself won't cause skin infection or problems, but excess sugar leading to diabetes definitely can.  Diabetes puts you at higher risk for skin infections and skin discolorations.

Try This: Cetaphil has a new product on the market called "cetaphil dermacontrol oil control foam wash" that I have had excellent results with patients. I do not like to endorse one brand over another but this product has shown great results thus far. It is worth a try.

can using too much laundry detergent cause you skin problems?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Detergents and soaps are caustic chemicals. Too much can irritate the skin leading to an irritant contact dermatitis. Studies show that we don't even need detergents in our clothing washers, just the gyration itself cleans the clothes. If you use anything, use hypoallergenic and use 1/2 whatever they recommend.

Smoking and stamina: Smoking certainly decreases stamina, both directly by decreasing lung function, damaging lung tissue and causing respiratory bronchiolitis or other interstitial diseases. It also raises the amount of carbon monoxide in the blood which irreversibly binds to the same sites of the hemoglobin molecule that should carry oxygen to your body.
