A lifetime: Fibroids can start growing as soon as you reach puberty. As long as you are menstruating (your ovaries are working) fibroids can continue to grow. They usually start to regress when you go through menopause.

No: Clomid (clomiphene) does not affect fibroid growth at all.

Estradiol: (which is commonly referred to as "estrogen" but is really one of many Estrogens (i.e. Estrogen is a class of hormone, Estradiol is a specific estrogen).

Unclear: A uterine lining grows by less than a millimeter a day during one's follicular phase of the cycle (the first 7-14 days).  Not perceptible to the naked eye even if you had an ultrasound every day.  Follicles grow on average anywhere from 1-3mm in 24 hours.

Tomato Tamahto: 9 weeks, 10 weeks. Yes, the dates are important, but to a certain extent this is an exact science, and to another extent this is an inexact science. If you have an ultrasound measured in millimeters that indicates a certain number of weeks, fine. There are ranges that are acceptable and normal. I would not quibble about 1 week - i would worry if you were a month off! measure again in a month.

i'm 4 months pregnant, sonogram shows "low lying posterior marginalis placenta", they told me the placenta will go up as uterus will grow, i also experienced bleeding until the second month, will my pregnancy be safe? and placenta will go up?

Accepted Answer

: Maybe. The placental location can change some during pregnancy. It can move up and away from the outlet as it increases in size. It can also stay low, cross over the outlet and require a scheduled c-section to avoid a catastrophic delivery. The bleeding may be related and stopping is a good sign the pregnancy could proceed to term.

No: It will not, but you may notice some physical changes in the subsequent days after fetal demise because of hormonal changes. Most notably, period like bleeding and discharge.

Hard?: The uterus often feels hard, and is there to help protect the fetus.  There should be no risk to your baby.  You need to sit down and have a conversation with your significant other's obstetrician, or buy a book on pregnancy and read it.

can scar tissue grow and fill in where your uterus used to be and cause another surgery?

Accepted Answer

Adhesions: Any time you have abdominal surgery you risk forming adhesions, which are really just a kind of abdominal scar tissue.  If you form adhesions that obstruct your bowel, etc. You may need another surgery to take down the adhesions.  It is a common complication, but having to have another operation is not.
