had bartholin's abcess 3 weeks ago that ruptured. lymph nodes in groin are still tender and swollen. 10 days of keflex given, no change.

Possibly: Yeast is usually on the surface. If the glands in your groin are swollen, it could men a more serious infection. You need to see a doctor or nurse practitioner.

MRSA cellulitis?: Are they really lymph nodes and not localized skin infections? The fact that they are painful suggests infection. The lack of response to Keflex suggests methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (mrsa). I would recommend seeing your doctor and getting a medication that works for MRSA in your community (could be Clindamycin or bactrim; your local doctor will know best).

Doctor can evaluate: Groin lumps can be caused by infected lymph nodes, enlarged non-infected lymph nodes, skin cysts, abscesses in the skin, etc... A bigger lump might even be a hernia. One's primary care doctor can evaluate to see what it might be, and offer advice on treatment or testing.

Deconditioning.: The more you train the less frequent this will become.  Don't stop for lengthy periods of time unless truly injured.

Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They react in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.
