Tinea Pedis: It sounds like a tinea pedis or athletes foot. Fungus can be very resistant to medication. Put lotrimin (clotrimazole) AF cream as well as hydrocortisone cream 15 three times a day for a week. Also, dry feet and toes carefully, then apply gold bond powder into your socks immediately after bathing or swimming. Good luck.

i have small holes surrounded by white skin on soles of feet, only noticeable after they are wet. when dry they are barely visible. no odor is present. the closest condition i can find that is similar is pitted keratosis, but it doesn't look the same?

: I agree that pitted keratolysis best fits your description &amp; it's mentioned that wet feet do show these pits best. A podiatrist would be best to consult for diagnosis, advice &amp; treatment if you still have concerns.

Possible Raynaud's: Which is a vasospasm of blood vessels in cold weather, sometimes can be stress related. However, since we can't see the foot, i would recommend a doc check it out in person.

If he's growing another one, he may be reinfecting himself as it is caused by a virus. You can try over the counter wart removal products like salicylic acid  or bichloracetic acid or self-freezing kits. Or you can have your doctor look at it and possibly freeze it with liquid nitrogen
