Depends: Once only may be of little or no consequence, particularly if there are no other symptoms. If it becomes a repeated observation, get it checked out.

Stool varies: Stool color, consistency etc. Varies with diet, hydration, viruses, etc.  Granted the baby's diet hasn't changed, but sometimes the poop is effected by what mom eats.  Sometimes it's a virus that turns stool green.  The most important thing is that the baby continues to nurse/drink/void/stool well, and is acting normal.  If everything else is fine, don't worry about a little green poop.

Baby with cough: You need to use saline nose drops followed by gentle suction and for loose poop, if it is watery then you have to stop the formula or brest feeding and use clear liquids andelectrolyte solution, till the loose poop stop.If it is not watery anfd soft then you just give extra pedialyte and continue feeding.Ir the symptoms persist consult youe pediatrician.

Anything else?: Is it diarrhea?  Is she ill? Does she have fever?  Any other symptoms?  The color of poo doesn't really mean anything all that significant unless it's red with blood. There is a "Diaper Decoder" website supported by the formula Similac.  It has pictures of various diapers/poop and what it can mean.  It usually means all is fine. For some reason, Mom's worry a lot about poop.

Still normal: The baby needs a little time to adjust to the new formula, dark specks are probably due to the iron in the formula.

Sounds normal: Stool color is made by the bile from your liver.The color range goes from dark green through the yellows and browns based on how the bile is changed in transit. What you describe is well within the range of normal.

If the infant is receiving formula feedings she or he may start to show signs of intolerance to the particular formula. See a Dr.: Depending on the age of your baby, this could be a serious thing. White, chalky grey or yellow stool can be caused by a gallbladder problem called biliary atresia. Call your baby's Dr for a thorough Exam and bring an example of the stool so that the Dr can see the color, consistency and any additional findings.
