Superficial injury?: While a huge hematoma may seem like a big deal, it may not mean much if it is not painful. You could have caused bruise  by having a pressure sustained on your thigh causing microtrauma to the veins in the skin and the subcutaneous tissues .  Warm soaks or compress for 15 mins at a time  will help it disappear faster.

i was under shower and noticed two purple-green bruises at the base of my hands. they appeared fast and disappeared as quickly?

sprained my ankle last to last week. the swelling is gradually going down, but i see green bruise type of patches being developed over my ankle (which werent there before). ive been icing 3-4 times a day. is this normal? how to take care?

Accepted Answer

: The discoloration  is”normal” after a major injury. It denotes bleeding in the soft issue. Which means there was damage to the soft tissue and ligaments. After you reduce the swelling you then need to strengthen the muscles. Very important to protect and help prevent re  injury  Look on the internet for exercises or go to a physical therapist   Your doctor can help follow progress

Bruise: You  may have sustained a bruise without realizing it and it has now formed a hematoma which is a collection of blood. This can sometimes get infected as well so it's a good  idea to get it checked with your doctor if it persists

Bruise: Suspect you got bumped somehow and developed a bruise. Would show to you Dr and try to recall lifting anything and dropping on leg? Suitcase? Box of water bottles?

In theory : It would not be a DVT as the D stands for deep. There is the dorsal venous arch that could get a clot but it would be superficial. Clots in the foot are usually very painful to the exact spot of the clot. If you still have something there why not go get it checked out....

a week ago i had an iv in my hand. the iv site got a green-brown bruise out of the middle of no where today, what could cause this?

Hematoma: During the placement of your IV blood leeked around IV catheter under your skin. Hematoma ( bruise) changes color over absorption. You did not notice the bruise originally , but due to the color change it became more noticeable. Should go away within few days.
