Mutations of either : the KIT gene on Chr. 4q12 or the SNA12 gene on Chr. 8q11,inherited in an Autosomal Dominant fashion, cause Piebaldism. I found 1 case report of ^ing hypopigmented skin patches, thought to be from instability of melanocytes, pigment-producing cells, caused by the specific mutation. Your dermatologist can check for more spots  with &amp; without a Woods lamp. See ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/piebaldism.

: No, those 2 issues are likely unrelated in your case. The sensory hearing loss in Waardenburg sydrome is a congenital disorder which is different from the more common SSHL in your case, usually reversible with early treatment. Regarding you hair patch, you are probably correct about poliosis.

Melasma: Melasma is caused by hormones in women usually associated with pregnancy, oral contraceptives, hormonal replacement therapy, etc. It can appear brown, gray, or brown-black. Other causes of gray discoloration are sun damage, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, reaction to medications (ie: minocycline).

From : From your description, you may have ringworm of the scalp which is actually caused by a fungus, not a worm.  Of course, without examining you and sending cultures, i cannot tell for sure what it is.  A fungal infection of the scalp is more difficult to treat than fungal infections elsewhere.  Treatment usually includes 1-2 months of a prescription oral medication.  You should give your doctor a call and have them take a look at it.  They will hopefully be able to tell exactly what it is so you can get the proper treatment.  Good luck!

Many possibilities: There are many types and causes of skin rashes.  Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, allergic reactions, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause rashes on the skin. Insect bites can also be the cause of a rash on the skin.  Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

: Darkened, rough patch inside of mouth can be indicative of a serious problem. Please have it examined by a Dr in person. One of the more worrisome diagnoses is mouth melanoma. A full examination and biopsy can determine whether there is reason for concern

Poliosis: With only the limited description you may have poliosis. It is possible that you may have a halo nevus on your scalp. In this situation the hairs growing out of the nevus can lose their pigmentation. However, you could also have premature graying. See a dermatologist to examine your scalp to see what may be the cause.

my son is 3 years old and i see gray and white strands of hair on his head. what should i do? i have noticed that the hair on his head is turning white and gray. should i be worried? what should i do?

The : The best thing would be to take him to your pediatrician and see if he has a possible nutritional deficiency or hormonal imbalance.  They can perform tests to be sure there is no obvious cause of this, and as that is quite a rare problem in a 3 year old he will need a complete evaluation.
