need on advice on how i can hide the puffy bags under my eyes when i have graves disease?

Options: Well, first of all there is surgery, however is the graves dz is not controlled, then the bags will come back. Other options include make-up, sunglasses or tinted glasses. If you happen to be near-sighted, then you are in luck because near-sighted glasses have a tendency to shrink the orbit area appearance, so if you get larger lenses, the bags will be muck harder to see.

Several: Morbid obesity, histiocytosis, cushing's syndrome, statin myopathy, myasthenia gravis. Orbital tumors - usually unilateral.

Many causes: A neuroopthalmologist specializes in problems involving the brain &amp; connections with the eye to the brain. A general DR could determine if vision loss involves a systemic problem, such as uncontrolled diabetes, medications/toxins, nutritional deficiencies or infection. Graves Disease would only cause sudden temporary blindness due to compression of the optic nerve. This would show up on imaging.

Need to see eye dr.: You need to have your eyes measured, to make sure they are actually protruding, beyond normal or if it's just your bone structure. Anything that can increase what appears to be protrusion can also be tumors, masses, inflammation in the eye, or involving the optic nerve, chiasm, vein or muscles. That requires imaging, and further workup. Also your thyroid antibody panels need to be repeated.

In : In this case it makes sense to see an ophthalmologist who is an md and is trained in both the medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases.  In your case, may may need to see a subspecialist known as an oculo-plastic specialist.

Graves: The eyelids can be adjusted to reduce the cosmetic effect of thyroid eye disease.  Depending on the severity, you may be able to avoid orbital decompression.

Yes, URGENT: If you have temporary blindness from graves disease, you may have compressive optic neuropathy.  This is a very urgent problem, seek evaluation immediately, otherwise the eye may go blind permanently.
