i've heard some good benefits from teas. i'm just curious about the benefits of licorice spice herbal tea that doesn't contain glycyrrhizin?

Tea/Theanine: There is a component in tea called theanine that relaxes a person and at the same time sharpens his or her focus.  It's not the same for herbal teas even though i'm sure many of them are good as well.  Try green tea, or even a bit better, white tea.

does glycyrrhizic acid (in liquorice root) have glucocorticoid effects?  if so, has it ever been studied for use in treating lo-cah? study links?

Accepted Answer

No: Glycyrrhizinic acid inhibits an enzyme in the kidney (11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase). This enzyme inactivates cortisol in the kidney. Inhibition of this enzyme leads to decreased inactivation of cortisol and thus to increased cortisol levels. Not expected to work in cah since this is characterized by an inabilty to make cortisol.

There : There is no evidence that any of these supplements can stimulate ovulation.  There are no studies that demonstrate that these will help.  Most women who go off Depo-Provera do start ovulating in the next few months.  Try staying in bed for 15 minutes after intercourse with your knees up, and be sure you have optimal nutrition.  If you don't get pregnant in the next several months then consulting a gynecologist would be reasonable.

Not really: Any interaction is not significant.

No: No significant properties.

does lemon balm extract interact with wellbutrin (bupropion)?

Accepted Answer

No: I have checked several resources and there are no indications that wellbutrin (bupropion) and lemon balm will interact.  However, you should tell your physician that you're taking lemon balm, if you are.

Zesta Green Teas: In trying to review zesta pure green tea ; zesta blended green teas - there were no notations that the products were decaffeinated. Normally it will be noted if the product has been decaffeinated.

Accepted Answer

MSM: No.  This usually helps healing.

can supplements like tumeric, black raspberry, mangosteen, pomegranate & noni aggravate existing acid reflux?

Accepted Answer

Yes : Turmeric is often touted as one of the best natural remedies for reflux but can aggravate reflux for some. While not common, it is likely some of the others you mention might cause reflux in some as well. The best way to find out is to stop all of them and restart one at a time to see how you react. is it safe to take ginseng, vit d, k, calcium + capsicum supplements and cinnamon, dandelion, green, rosehip, chamomile and peppermint teas together?

Who knows?: Why would anyone have ever scientifically  studied such a combination? Do so, as with all otc supplements, at your own risk. The only one that has been scientifically studied and has actual medical benefits without significant risks is the vitamin d. Calcium can't hurt.  The rest are a waste of money and possibly health. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or internet scams.
