Possibly helpful: As someone who practices integrative pediatrics, I do incorporate these remedies for colic/gas in babies.  Gripe waters that contain small amounts of fennel and ginger are likely safe as are chamomile and fennel teas (for baby or mom - if baby is under 6m, don't give more than 1 oz 3x per day).  Probiotics (bifidus, lactobacillus) have been shown to be safe and effective.

YES: Tea is good if baby is having lbm. You can add it  to diarrhea diet.

I never advise it: A light brew of chamomile tea may give you something to do but i can remember no research data showing predictable benefit. Teas have been offered for colic since the first written treatment books for kids in the 1700's & follow the assumption that the gut is somehow upset. Present thought finds  it more a transient behavior/frustration issue.

Chamomile Tea: Yes, you can drink it but limit the amount since some can be transferred through breast milk. And you should not give to the infant/baby.

No: A baby should have breast milk or formula to drink.  After 24-32 ounces of the milk, they can have up to 6 ounces of juice a day.  If they are still thirsty, then water.

It's not a good idea: to put sweet liquids like juice or sweet tea  in a bottle, only formula or water, to avoid baby's developing a taste for sweets by 5-6 mos. when primary teeth erupt. Wipe out your baby's mouth after feeding &amp; reading at a set bedtime, then put him in his crib drowsy, but awake, without bottle or pacifier to learn to self-calm to sleep by 4 mos. to avoid cavities &amp; sleep problems at 6 mos. &amp; &gt;.

Yes: And hopefully your nutritionist knows ou are breastfeeding. The tea is fine...Pay attention to your baby...If baby is very fussy or has some reaction after you drink the tea, it means it may be a bit strong, so reduce the dosage , stop it and or call the nutritionist.

Fenugreek tea: has been shown in some studies to enhance milk production.  Taken in tablets it has not.  Dromperidone is a prescription medication that has had some success used short term.  The best approach, however, is to work with a qualified lactation consultant and follow his or her advice. Over time you will succeed

: None. I find no studies that would support giving this material to an infant of that age no matter how well intentioned. We do understand its calming effect on adults. What it would do to a rapidly developing brain is unknown.
