Finacea: The common side effects include: burning, stinging, itching, redness, dryness, peeling, irritation, changes of skin color, and hypertrichosis which is less common. The only option you have is to stop this topical medication and use a different product.

Another treatment: Different lasers or ipl (intense pulsed light devices) may leave grid marks after the procedure.  Sometimes the inflammation may resolve on its own, require low dose topical corticosteroids, or possible second treatment to feather out the grid marks.  It depends on the device that was being used.

Re-exposure...: Of course, some of the commercial and even prescription pediculocides (lice medicines) require 2 separate applications given about a week apart. Just make sure to follow your doctor's directions or the directions on the bottle, and remind your little one to not share caps/hats/bandanas or combs/brushes with other children.

Depends on cause: Depends on what the discoloration means.  Some medicines can cause skin changes.  For some people, darker or lighter skin in certain areas is normal.  In these cases, there are no really effective medications to help.  Laser may be helpful.   If the discoloration is the result of an infection (fungus) you will need medicine.  Dry skin can also result in discoloration.

Multiple: It sounds as if you are describing scar tissue as a result of blemishes on your face.  One of the best treatments for scars is using tretinoin cream or gel (retin a) within six months of the scar forming.

is there a face medicine that will get rid of acne while also getting rid of acne scars?

Acne meds: Accutane reduces new acne lesions, and seems to reduce the scars, and the color.  Antibiotics reduce new lesions, but not scarring.  Topical antibiotics the same.  Retina seems to speed the healing of acne lesions,  benzoyl peroxide also seems to speed the healing, reduces some new lesions, but not treat the scarring.  Some will scar more, others less with similar acne.

No good way.: The pitted scars would be hard to get rid of. chemical peeling, laser all have been tried with limited success. no Rx cream would work either. let your skin repair itself.

See your doctor: Your doctor needs to examine you and run some tests to see what's going on.

No: Steroids do not improve acne. A low dose oral steroid can be helpful in selected people for hormonal acne in women, who can not tolerate or do not want to take birth control pills.
