With cloth to protect skin apply ice front and back of head for 20 minutes, repeat with new ice sheets two more times for 20 minutes each time. Careful for frostbite! you are doing it right if you need to get under covers, you are so cold. Stops 50% migraines, um, cold in their tracks!

My general rule is that when headaches occur more than 1-2 days per week I add preventative meds to the abortive meds.

Migraine: Migraine headaches are severe unilateral throbbing, associated with nausea, light and noise sensitivity. Improves with resting and is worsened by  "triggers." identifying the triggers may be very difficult. Sleep disorder, stress, hormonal changes, weather changes, certain medications (like in the case of rebound headaches) and diet may be some. Check with your doctor for change in therapy.
