i take gaviscon and i have been drinking seltzer waters that are flavored naturally all day. i read not to take with citric acid or it increases the aluminum. now im worried, isnt there citric acid in carbonated drinks?

: Yes, taking citric acid solution along with Gaviscon can increase aluminum absorption but this interaction is only clinically significant in patients with advanced kidney disease because aluminum will be accumulated and cause toxicity. Furthermore, there is no citric acid in pure carbonated drink.

is 60mg famotidine a day safe ie 40mg am and 20mg pm. if so, is it better to take the 40mg at night or morning? i take it in the morning as food eaten during the day and at night i also add gaviscon advance. whats your opinion?

: It really depends on what you are treating. If your GI doctor recommends this dose to treat either ulcer disease or reflux, then the dose is ok, especially if it is short-term to treat ulcer disease. There can be long-term side effects so you want to follow up with the GI doctor and hopefully stop the medicine or reduce the dose when the  condition you are treating has resolved. Good luck!

Depends on type: There are different types of Gaviscon and I'm not sure which type you are asking about. I'd avoid the types that have aluminum hydroxide as aluminum is toxic to developing babies (and adults too). Gavisvon: It should be safe. Some medication absorption is affected by antacids, not sure about propranolol and you could check with your pharmacist or just make sure that administration of each is offset by over 2 hours
