after scheduled surgery to remove gallbladder laparoscopically will i know i was intubated? what will recovery be like?

Laparoscopic : Surgery usually requires general endotracheal anesthsia.  You will not have any memory of the intubation itself, because the anesthesiologist will give you IV medicine that prevents recalling the event.  Barring any complications or unusual findings at surgery, you should be able to go home same or next day and resume normal activity in one week.  Ask your surgeon for specific details.

i had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically 5 weeks ago. my recovery is good, i can eat anything. aside from minor pain when laying on right side no symptoms. i have a script for 10mg adderall (not xr) and havent taken it since. can i take it now?

: Unless your surgeon has instructed you not to take, you can start back on your medications including adderall. Hope it helps.

: If the surgery was complicated by an inflammation of the gall bladder, scar tissue can result and normally mobile intestines which are always contracting in the digestive process, will be restricted in movement, causing pain. Medications will not usually stop this kind of pain, as it may require a surgical correction.  See the surgeon who performed this surgery for guidance.

No: Long term, there is no differences in the two surgical procedures, other than the size of the scar.

Yes: The recovery from the operation will be similar from the standpoint of postoperative pain.  However, the technical aspects of this operation are very different--this is considered an "advanced" laparoscopic procedure.  I advise you to seek out a surgeon with considerable experience in laparoscopic adrenal surgery.

Often not much: Although there is always pain after any surgical procedure, patients often go home the same day after laproscopic gall bladder removal with oral pain medication. Many patients proclaim that they didn't realize how bad they felt with their sick gall bladder until they were better!

Surgery: Laparoscopic surgery is a means of operating through small incisions and trochars using a camera attached to a visualizing scope, with the picture transmitted to a television monitor. Small instruments are used, placed through the trochars, to remove the gallbladder from its attachments with small clips placed on the bile and artery connections.
