Depends...: ...On the location. Simple athlete's foot & jock itch will often clear with any of the over-the-counter antifungal creams or sprays. More extensive skin involvement usually requires the addition of an oral antifungal (ketoconazole, terbinafine, etc.) if it's on the face, in the scalp, or in toenails or fingernails, topical treatments simply don't work, and oral antifungals are the only way to go.

Yes, I do.: There are several; the most popular at the moment are terbinafine (trade name lamisil), ketoconazole (trade name nizoral), itraconazole (trade name sporanox), and Fluconazole (trade name diflucan). All have advantages and disadvantages, depending on the nature and location of the infection. An older medication called Griseofulvin is still used sometimes, but a lot of fungi are resistant to it now.

And of course, apply a good antifungal cream or lotion twice a day until the rash clears.

It can be tricky.: There is overlap between the appearance and symptoms of eczema & fungal infections. Both can be red, scaly and itchy. Mild eczema responds well to moisturizers & Hydrocortisone cream. This treatment can actually worsen some fungal infections. Fungal infections respond well to antifungal creams. If your rash is not improving, see your dermatologist. A simple non-invasive skin test can sort it out.
