Anything: 2 year olds are frequently getting infected with viruses, usually from family or playmates.  They have not yet developed immune responses to many of the organisms (germs) they encounter, but as they develop antibodies these episodes are likely to become less and less frequent.  This may continue until usually about age 5, but varies with the child.

how do you prevent frequent fevers in 20 month old?

It depends: Most children in the 1st few years of life have 8-10 viral infections per year. The first year in daycare, that number can be higher. A fever is a temp &gt;101 F.  If your child has a fever, treat it with Tylenol (acetaminophen) to help him feel better, but the fever is not dangerous. The good news is that your child's immune system is getting stronger. See a doc if the fever is &gt;101 &gt;2-3 days or he is acting sicker

Fever: A body temperature of 99 f is quite normal and is not fever. Your body temps are low in the early am and higher in the evening, but as long as they do not exceed 100 f they are not considered as fever.

?? acites: Difficult to determine what is happening with your case. The water detected on your ultrasound may be in your peritoneal space rather than stomach. This could be ascites fluid. Make sure you take a friend or family member with you to your appointment to get ultrasound results. You may need a tap of this fluid to get your diagnosis.
