: Depending on the severity of tear, it may take 7-10 days to heal. To facilitate proper healing: wash, rinse and bandage the tear right away, wear loose, comfortable clothes, abstain from sexual activity involving penis including masturbation, avoid vigorous activity that can bump or scrapes the penis. Frenuloplasty is seldom needed in first tear. Hope it helps.

Depends: Torn frenulum usually heals on its own. But might require frenulotomy or frenuloplasty if frenulum remains tight &amp; liable to tear again with sex or masturbation. Very simple surgical procedure which can even be done in office after application of topical anesthetic cream injected local anesthetic. Or under general anesthesia.

: True, a frenulum tear leaves a shorter frenulum. Tears are usually unintentional and small. People generally just let frenulum tears heal on their own, without any attempts at repairing them. That's because mildly shorter frenula don't seem to affect function. That being said, a person can get a video on an in-person exam with a doctor to check the tear. There are frenula at: lips, tongue, penis.

Use a Q tip: Wash gently (soap and water), apply ointment with Q tip (small amount), need not pull back frenulum can be painful and unnecessary). Should heal 3-5 days, depending on how big was the original tear.

Exam: In most cases, the frenulum tear will get better without treatment &amp; you should avoid sexual activity until the tear has healed. Once it has healed you can try to use a lubricant during sex to prevent it from happening again. If your frenulum keeps getting torn you may need an operation to lengthen it which is called a frenuloplasty. I suggest a medical exam to check on your condition. Good luck!
