Ice massage (24-36 hours), compression and elevation are the keys to maximize healing.

Walk on sprain: I have seen patients that think they only have a sprain and they also have a fracture.  I strongly advise an evaluation and x rays to be sure you do not have  a fracture .  Better safe than really sorry
