if i had a blockage in my lower esophagus would i still be able to drink liquids? i can drink small sips of liquids but not eat food, my mid chest burns/hurts. i tried cola, water, hot water, and tums?

Stricture : It sounds like you are able to tolerate liquids, which is good. Otherwise make sure you follow recommendations from your gastroenterologist monitoring the blockage.

Trouble swallowing: May be reflux, gastritis, Barretts esophagus, a stricture in the esophagus or a mass. May also be achalsia, or spasm. F/u with gastroenterologist you need an endoscopy

Most likely not: Most likely not but needs to be ruled out!  At your age most likely is related to reflux.  The esophagus can create a ring that tries to keep acid in the stomach.  However, be diligent and get that scope done

No cleaning required: Unlike the colon, the esophagus has a mechanism of "cleaning" itself through a process called peristalsis.  In health, there should essentially no residual fluid or liquid in the esophagus after a few swallows.

See you doctor.: You may need a GI evaluation. You could have acid reflux, esophagitis, hiatal hernia, stricture.... You need to be properly evaluated and tested.

Esophageal tear: Esophageal lesions form a broad chapter. Can be either caused by infections: candida, herpes in immunosupressed people, or after vomiting with a full stomach after eating solid foods.The last one is particulary dangerous because it can lead to complete laceration of the esophagus a life threatening complication.Sometimes acid reflux can cause lesions on esophagus as well.

when your trying to heal your esophagus you shouldn't eat more acids? what if your taking meds and your still hurting is it becuz of the acidic food.

Correct: Eating or drinking acid things will make the esophageal irritation worse.  It may take time for the meds to work.  If you are very pregnant, you probably have reflux and should stay upright as much of the time as you can (even to sleep) and take an antacid whenever you hurt as well as at bedtime or if you wake up in the night.

Esophagitis: You may have irritation of your esophagus from acid reflux. Try an over the counter antacid and see if your symptoms improve. If not, you need to see a gastroenterologist and let them investigate the issue.

Family practice : I would suggest that you see a gastroenterologist   he needs to scope the area and possibly dilate your esophagus this may be related to acid reflux.

if in a rush on the way to work, normally i guzzle coffee and take big bites of food. how much is the food/drinks temperature damaging me, and what will happen to esophagus?

Not much: While not ideal eating behavior, this should not permanently damage your esophagus or stomach.
