Probably too much: Methotrexate seems to deplete the body of folic acid, and, while controversial, most rheumatologists recommend supplementation.  The most common dose is 1 mg per day, but doses range from 5 - 10 mg weekly.  4 mg/day seems higher than usually recommended.  There is some concern that too much folic acid might reduce the effectiveness of Methotrexate. Needs review with your doctor. Good wishes!

Folic Acid: If there is a family hx of neural tube defects than higher folic acid levels may be recommended. Most women should  get 600 mcg each day when pregnant.

Vitamin question: The only fat soluble vitamins are, as i recall, from training are a, d, e, and k.  B and c are water soluble and are removed by the kidney. That being said before you make any changes to your medical regimen you should clear it through your ob/gyn first.  Good luck.

Yes: These can be taken together but iron preparations are irritating on an empty stomach and in my opinion  should be taken with food already in the stomach. Your pharmacist can be very helpful in questions like this.

Many reasons.: Most reproductive-age women should consume 1-5 mg of Folic Acid daily until menopause/hysterectomy/bilateral tubal ligation in order to prevent preterm birth, cardiac and neural tueb defects. Others also benefit: people with hemoglobinopathies, anemia, poor diet, cardiac disease.

1-5 mg.: Most adults should consume 1 mg of Folic Acid daily - especially women in reproductive age and individuals at risk for cardiac events. Women should probably consume up to 5 mg daily between the ages of 16-46.
