Could be: gas in your stomach accumulating due to pyloric (the "end portion' of the stomach SPASM.

This could be stress related
Get it checked out! There are  excellent anti-spasmodic treatments!

i have this on again off again fluttering sensation on the right side of my lower abdomen/upper pelvic area. its probably been there for a little over a year. ive gotten an ultrasound (just of abdomen) but there was nothing abnormal at the time. ?

Nondiagnostic: This symptom is nondiagnostic. The normal abdominal ultrasound is helpful. Vague fluttering in the absence of other symptoms can be due to irritable abdominal muscles or superficial abdominal wall nerves. It may also be caused by intestinal contents moving through the intestines. Worrisome symptoms would be severe cramps,abdominal or pelvic pain and tenderness and bowel or menstrual symptoms.

Go see your doctor: You need to see your doctor.  He will examine you and determine if you need more testing or if this is normal/benign. 
Upper left quad abdomen is where the heart and stomach lie.

The best way to make sure it's nothing dangerous is to be examined by a health care provider. Most of the time the cause can be determined with a physical exam and a few simple tests. Less often, an imaging study or looking inside the belly with a scope is needed.

Gas /Air/Peristalsis: Fluttering "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks).  Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Intestines/Stomach: In your gut are the organs and the intestines.  Air, fluid and waste move through them. If there is an infection or irritation the normal processes may be interrupted, interfered with or changed.  Swelling happens, fluids don't absorb as well and what is moving through is looser than normal.

Could be any: Of 100's of reasons and causes of abdominal pain.  Some of these can be serious or require immediate operation.  Also could be pain radiating from chest or even shingles.  Go to a doctor so he can find out for you and treat you properly.
