since yesterday i'm feeling like fluttering in my chest and throat every 30 minutes and right after that sometimes i feel like i have to cough or burp, it doesn't hurt, bp is ok, not taking any medication, don't have any conditions. whats is this?

: I doubt the significance of our symptoms. However, if symptoms keep returning in the next 24 hours, you should see your doctor. By the way, when you have that symptom you should do this Valsava maneuver "take a big deep breath, hold your breath then bear it down like you strain for bowel movement" and see if that terminates the symptom. Let your doc know if this maneuver effective or not.

ive had an odd heartbeat the last few days. itll beat normal, then ill feel a fluttering in my chest & throat then it beats hard twice,& gets norm.

Arrhythmia: See your doc.  You are having palpitations, which may indicate an irregular heart beat.  There are many types, most of which are not serious.  Testing, such as an ECG, overnight monitor, and blood work will likely be helpful in tracking this down.  In the meantime. decrease or eliminate caffeine, and avoid stress.

ocassionally, when i bend down, turn my torso, begin to eat, or sometimes just breath in i get a weird feeling in my chest/throat. fluttering? or..?

Consider reflux: These activities can promote reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus which travels behind the breast bone and communicates with the throat. Certain foods like fatty things, spicy, acidic, caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, etc or eating a large amount can make reflux more likely.

have flutter feelings in upper chest/throat from time to time. had holter monitor in sept & all good. pcp said not to worry. i still have them & worry. symptoms i logged on the sheet didnt show anything on monitor. what else could the flutter be?

Probably anxiety: The flutter is probably from anxiety but you can see a cardiologist and have it checked out. You will probably benefit from taking propranolol, a type of heart medicine called beta-blocker that helps reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety (palpitations, tremors, sweats, etc). If it is from anxiety, then you should consider therapy and/or SSRI, a type of medicine for anxiety.

i have difficulty belching and swallowing and palpitations in chest/throat but no increasing h.rate. exercise helps. is this likely to be anxiety?

Maybe: Anxiety presents in a variety of ways. Exercise is known o be helpful. If exercise helps would keep his up. If this other gets worse in spite of exercise discuss with your doctor.

facial pressure, eyes twitching, back of neck pain and pressure around jawline. this plus fluttering in chest that comes and goes. i dont know if this is sinus infection based, virus or what? any idea??

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

i have a flutter in my throat that has now moved to my chest.  after the flutter starts i tend to have a coughing attack.

Get medical help: Could bem an arrythmia, fibrillation, go to a cardiologist soon.

Accepted Answer

Maybe, but...: Exposure of the vocal cords to stomach acid & pepsin can cause inflammation of  vocal cords (as is also often seen with acid regurgitation) = lerd. Acute laryngitis may result, but watch out for chronic hoarseness, throat clearing, airway spasms, bronchitis, an asthma-type presentation, & even a higher risk of throat cancer. However, symptoms may originate w/ your heart or lungs so do get checked.

every once in awhile i get this flutter like feeling in my throat/chest area. and i have to catch my breath for a second. what does this mean?

Arrythmia ?: Could be an arrythmia.  Get evaluated by your physician.  Work up may include an echocardiogram, holter and/or event monitor.

See your doctor: You may have asthma, bronchitis or any number of lung conditions.  Your doctor may need to order a chest xray  or do a spirometry to measure your lung capacity.  She will also see if you have reflux causing all the discomfort.  She will advise you to stop smoking. Now is a good time to find a smoking cessation program.  There are patches, gum, will power and e cigarettes for patients who need help.
