What dose?: What dose of Prozac (fluoxetine) are you talking about?  You have not listed one.  Doses of 20 mg/day are very common, but a given person may need more.  The maximum dose is 80 mg/day.  There are also delayed-release forms using 90 mg once/week.

Yes: Since I have no information about how 20 mg affected you i can't answer that.  However, i usually increase by 10 mg at a time.

Yes: It will take a while to decrease the blood levels, like you said, because of the long half life.

Prozac is for depression and anxiety.  10mg/day is your maintenance dose for about 2 years.
It is likely that you have become used to it if you did not have Therapy, and there may have been new stressor in your life.

No: If it is making you feel more anxious, perhaps you need to consider something else for your anxiety.  consider a mood stabilizer like abilify (aripiprazole).

It might: It may very well improve with increased dosage. On the other a little more time on this dosage might make a difference or perhaps adding or changing the medication depending on the diagnosis. It is also possible that therapy should also be taking place. It is also very important that you should have had a complete medical evaluation.

Prozac (fluoxetine): Please only increase or change medications under your doctor's direct supervision. I would take it which ever way your provider suggested.  It is usually safe to increase dose by 10 or by 20mg at a time.

Wellbutrin (bupropion): consider asking your doc to add low to moderate dose of Wellbutrin (bupropion). The doc can make sure there are no med interactions and contraindicactions include seizures or anorexia nervosa.

Talk with your doc: Talk with your own physician about this, but the general range would probably be 20 mg of prozac (fluoxetine).
