No difference: No drugs are very effective to help clear mucus. Assuming the liquid or tablets you are trying have the same active ingredients (e.g. guaifenesin), either one is as good as the other. Use whichever seems to work best for you.

Yes it can recover : A lot depends on the cause of the fluid removed but in general one could recover back to normal but a lot of factors are involved.

Yes, possible : This is called aspiration. A massive aspiration event could cause drowning and death. More often, small amounts of repeated aspiration lead to a pneumonia. Unless the cause of the aspiration is addressed, it will continue to be a threat to the person's life and well-being.

Doctor to evaluate: May be a collapsed lung (pneumothorax), due to an air leak from the inside of the lung through the covering of the lung, out into the space between the lung and the ribs. The site of the leak has some damage, which will heal itself later. But the leaked air can fill the rib cage (chest cavity), pushing on the heart and collapsed lung...  Emergency Room doctor can see if urgent treatment is needed.

See your doctor: Lung abscess is very rare in children. Have your doctor check your child out for aspiration, swallowing properly, and possible foreign body.

Yes it is: Melanoma starts in the skin or mucosa. If it spreads to the lung it is very serious. Some times surgery can be done to remove the melanoma from the lung. Some melanomas are susceptible to a new chemotherapy. It is best to treat melanoma while it is confined to the skin. Early treatment is curable.

Pleural effusion: Yes. Pleural fluids could be checked for the  cancerous cells. On the chest x-ray will be probably seen pleural effusion.

Perhaps movement?: MRI imaging is susceptible to a variety of artifacts.  Movement is a one reason for poor quality imaging.  Since MRI images take time to generate, often  longer than one can hold their breath.  So imaging anything near the lungs can difficult since there is movement with normal quiet breathing.
