Yes: He will need to be evaluated and likely get a CT scan to see the extent of the infection.

for a while i would get a clogging sensation in my right ear on and off for weeks. today noticing if i touch my ear or pull on ear lobe it sounds like water is in my ear but it doesn't feel clogged. are there ways to drain eusthesian tube of fluid?

: If the fluid is in the eustachian tubes then using an antihistamine such as claritin or equivalent can be helpful. If the fluid is in the ear canal then putting Swimmers Ear drops (there are many products on the market) to dry out the fluid in the ear canal - a homemade version of half rubbing alcohol and half vinegar mix and using this for drops also works for the ear canal.

Swimming?: Sounds like swimmer's ear - external otitis. See ENT doc for exam/treatment.

ENT Consult: This is an enormously complex case. Please see your ENT doctor to fit the pieces together and suggest a treatment plan that will minimize chronic hearing loss and vestibular dysfunction. This is a problem that you will look back on and want to know that the treatment rendered was the very best. You will also want to consult an ophthalmologist to treat the ophthalmic portion of your Sjogrens.

Ice and neosporin.: You need to use neosporin ointment to kill any possible infection around the piercing site and then use ice to reduce the swelling. Use ice cold cloth, not ice on the ear.  10  minutes on and 10 minutes off for 1 hour should be suffice.

If red, hot, tender,: painful, swollen with streaking, pus or fever - get medical evaluation.  If it is a cartilage piercing with signs of infection - please take seriously. Take care.

Angioedema: This is angioedema. It is more unsightly and uncomfortable than it is serious. Many times, in kids, it is secondary to a recent or present infection. The safest thing to do is see the pediatrician before using an medications.

Clogged pore: Your ear lobe has sebaceous glands like most areas of the skin. This can be clogged and become inflamed as a result. This causes it to become swollen and can be painful.  Often, your body can resolve this on its own. If it is red, and painful, you may consider antibiotics.

If there are no breaks in the skin, ice and an oral anti-inflammatory like advil can be helpful. If it looks very red, feels hot, is very tender, there is risk it may be infected and you might need antibiotics. Try to keep the area dry and clean. Hope this helps
