i have a head cold/flu and my heart rate has been over 100 even when im just sitting down. is that because im sick? or could it be something else. im concerned?

: This accelerated resting heart rate, most likely simple sinus tachycardia, could be a reaction to temperature elevation or increased metabolism as your body fights the infection. In the absence of chest discomfort or shortness of breath, I doubt it's a serious issue. Rest up. Drink plenty of fluids(no caffeine)Take Tylenol as needed for fever.

my o 2 level has been approximately 92 -93 & my heart rate is about 112 i have had a cold / flu for three and a half weeks now is this something i sho?

Mgt.: I would recommend seeing your PCP or acute care center. The O2 saturation is borderline and you may have developed a secondary illness such as pneumonia. 
Your physician can evaluate you, and determine whether there is a complication of you flu illness.

Fever?: Fever can increase heart rate.  Try taking ibuprofen to lower the fever.  Additionally, dehydration can cause increased heart rate.  It sounds like you need to be evaluated by a doctor and treated.

Could be: expected with rise in body temperature and dehydration. Some adequate hydration will be helpful

Flu?: Understand your worry, but your symptoms don't sound so bad.  A heart rate like this can be perfectly normal depending upon your age. If you have significant symptoms or concerns you should se your doc.

Many reasons: Heart rate increases with fever. It increases with pain (which usually accompanies flu).  It increases with dehydration, which happens more quickly than normal if you have a fever and aren't drinking well enough.  It increases with combinations of all of the above. Rarely, it happens because the virus that is making you sick effects your heart directly.

About 24 hours: Half of the drug in codral that stimulates the heart beat should be metabolized by 5-8 hours, so if the rapid heart beat is caused by that, expect improvement by 10-16 hours.  Other factors that cause a rapid heart beat are dehydration and fever, so push the fluids and take fever meds like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. See your doctor if no relief, as it may indicate a more serious infection.

Yes: Generally when you have a fever your heart rate increases, drink plenty of fluids to keep hydrated and get plenty of bed rest, if you are still concern see your doctor.
