does flonase side effects include sinus pain???? i took flonase last night this morning woke up with sinus pain. i have no mucus.

Sinus is only mild: Headache pain from sinus obstruction can be associated with acute sinusitis +/- allergic nasal inflammation that worsens with barometric pressure from weather changes. Such discomfort responds easily to decongestants and is rarely moderate or severe; in such cases look for other causes: neck strain, eye issues, variation of migraine or tension headaches, etc. A brain Ct or MRI may be indicated.

Yes: Flonase (fluticasone proprionate) is a nasal steroid spray that is effective in treating the inflammation that leads to nasal congestion associated with allergic rhinitis and as an additional treatment for sinus congestion.  It's safe, effective and no addiction potential!

Get back on it: Give it a while to make sure it is not just your body's withdrawl from the drug.  If it persists, get back on it.  Thats why they make it.

: You could have physical evaluation for possible infection and antibiotics should make for quick resolution if there is infection. However what may help is to know what precipitates it for you for future prevention. I know if you bow your head over a menthol hot water with a covering over your head for about 20 minutes it helps drain the sinuses but that is not allopathic medicine.

Headache:  I am wondering if you might have tension headaches related to your anxiety. The sinus pressure might contribute to pain as well. Your doctor can make an accurate determination through evaluation.

Sinus infection : It sounds like you have a sinus infection. Flonase will not be enough. You need an antibiotic that is very effective for the sinus like Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) 875mg two times a day for 2 weeks. You also need an sinus decongestant like claritin-d 12 hour also twice a day. On top of that you should use a saline nasal rinse like the neti pot several times a day. Once things settle down then the Flonase will work.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine): If its the sinus, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) should help. You can also try a humidifier for a few days.

"Sinus ": No,  there are a number of over the counter meds that you could try. You could use an antihistamine  if your rpredominant symptom is sneezing and. Drainage  if nasal congestion is the biggest problem, a decongestant  like sudafed can be used. Decongestants will run up the blood pressure though. Pain relievers can be used for headache only.
